This year, you may be wondering, “How can I make Valentine’s Day special?” Especially if it’s your first. It may feel a little impossible. But our current world climate does not mean you and your partner can’t celebrate. Skip going out and plan a perfectly romantic evening at home.
I can’t believe we are already waving goodbye to the first trimester! It feels like a lifetime go and just yesterday that we found out we were pregnant all at once. We have had A LOT going on over the past three months.
Surprise! We are having a baby! Little Schroeder is due June 2021, and we couldn’t be more excited for baby’s arrival. We have no idea if we are having a boy or girl yet, but the blood work is with the lab!
I can’t believe I’m writing a blog post on family planning! For as long as I can remember, I have wrestled with the idea of having children. I’ve never felt that urge or tug on my heart to become a mother until after we got married. And when all of our friends started having children, something changed for me.
Medicine is HARD. The amount of education and training a doctor has to go through is overwhelming, and I think most individuals know that, but what they don’t know is how hard it can be on the spouse.
I can’t believe mother’s day is almost here. Do you have your mother’s day gifts ideas yet? I haven’t purchased my mom a gift yet, but I’m totally buying her one of the cards below! This year is flying by. My life is so busy and hectic that sometimes I drop the ball on recognizing the special people in my life. One of my intentions for this year was to be better about making an effort to make my loved ones feel loved. I love supporting other small shops and makers and these types of items always make heartfelt gifts. Here are some of my favorite mother’s day gift ideas from Etsy:
Before we dive in, please know that this blog post is just my personal experience sharing money with a S/O and there is no right or wrong answer to this question! What works for you might not work for others and vice versa. I’ve been on both sides of the coin, and there are pros and cons to combined finances just like there are separate finances.
One minute, I’m making a list of all the things I love about being married and not having children, and the next minute, I’m having a full fledged breakdown (ugly tears included) because a friend sends me a cute video of her toddler playing in the yard.
These books have picked me up when I’m down and encouraged me when I wanted to give up on my entrepreneurial dreams. No matter what you need right at this moment, one of these books might just change your life, too!
The word balance should be placed next to the word perfection because neither of them exist. Yet, we constantly chase them. There is a lot of talk about letting go of perfectionism, but then, there are people standing on the roof tops shouting about having balance.
One year, I bought MYSELF a dozen roses and a pack of bacon for Valentine’s Day. There is nothing wrong with splurging on a gift for yourself. Whether it’s a bouquet of flowers, a nice piece of jewelry, or those shoes you have been drooling over. Treaty yo’ self on Valentine’s Day.
For date night, we tend to just go out to eat over and over again. Not complaining because I LOVE some quality time over a good meal and a glass of wine, but I’m also ready to try new things together.
From personal experience, my best guess is that many of us feel a lot of shame around money and shame is something we keep in the dark. Personally, I have felt a lot of shame and regret around the financial choices I’ve made.
