Ryan Nicol Schroeder was born on 7/14/2021 weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces and measuring 19″ long. You can read her full birth story here. Looking back at these photos remembering how much of a blur that first week was with a newborn baby. Amy Hall Photography came over to shoot Ryan’s newborn photos the following week. Of course, Ryan screamed the entire time. She’s already grown so much since these were taken 5 weeks ago!
I frantically ordered a million dresses off of Amazon, while nursing late at night, for our photos and ended up pulling something out of the closet. Andrew and I bought this dress on a fellowship interview trip in Texas which also happened to be a birthday trip for me. I get so many compliments and questions on this dress, but can’t find it anywhere online! Amy dressed Ryan. One less thing to worry about in the middle of newborn fog.
Andrew and I were in such a love bubble those first couple of weeks before he went back to work. So much love for one another and our sweet new baby. As hard as those first weeks were, I wanted time to freeze so we could bottle up that bliss forever.

I saw a post from my friend, Lauren Koster, on Facebook right before I came to write this blog post and it said, “Get the photos.” I couldn’t agree with her more. Andrew and I continue to make an investment in family photos and I never regret capturing these amazing moments in our lives. I am feeling so blessed and thankful to be called mama.
