Celebrating Single: 13 Fun Things to Do for Yourself on Valentine’s Day

One year, I bought MYSELF a dozen roses and a pack of bacon for Valentine’s Day. There is nothing wrong with splurging on a gift for yourself. Whether it’s a bouquet of flowers, a nice piece of jewelry, or those shoes you have been drooling over. Treaty yo’ self on Valentine’s Day.

#1) Splurge on a Piece of Jewelry

Treat yourself to a beautiful piece of jewelry that will serve as a reminder of self love all year long. Whether it’s a gold bar necklace, a statement ring, or a diamond tennis bracelet. Don’t break your bank, but buy something that FEELS like a splurge.

#2) Get Dinner with Friends

You don’t need a date to get dressed up and go out for dinner. Gather your single friends, order that bottle of red wine and the fancy charcuterie board. Tip: make a reservation so you don’t struggle to get a table!

#3) Have Boudoir Photos Taken

Want to feel empowered? Have boudoir photos taken for no one but yourself! Use the time to embrace self-love, intimacy and your feminine power. Wear an outfit that makes you feel like your sexiest self.

#4)  Binge Movies on Netflix

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to cuddle up with your favorite blanket, a bowl of popcorn, chocolates, and a romantic comedy. Here are some Netflix favorite:

But really, I’m on the sofa mostly for the snacks. If this is your Valentine’s Day plan, make sure you include the perfect pair of comfy, heart pajamas.

#5) Get a 90 Minute Massage

You heard me. Get a 90 minute massage, not a 60 minute one! There is nothing better than relaxing for OVER an hour. The best part about getting a massage is that the effects last much longer than your time on the table. Make sure you drink lots of water!

#6) Buy Yourself Flowers

One year, I bought myself a dozen red roses, and it felt SO empowering. Why not send yourself TWO dozen red roses just for the heck of it? Set them on your counter or in your bedroom and let them be a reminder that you have every right to love and spoil yourself.

#7) Go Shopping

Sometimes a little retail therapy is just what you need! Take yourself on a shopping trip for a new outfit. You don’t have to spend a fortune. I always hit up TJMAXX when I’m itching for something new in my closet.

#8) Take a Luxurious Bath

A bath is always a treat in my opinion! Run some hot water, fill your tub with bath salts or bubbles, light some candles, sprinkle some rose petals and pop some champagne. There is no better way to indulge and treat yourself on Valentine’s Day!

#9) Hit the Gym

Sweating it out at the gym always puts me in a better mood! A tough workout also makes me feel confident, empowered and alive. Hit the gym and get that endorphin boost this Valentine’s Day! And hey, what if you run into your future husband at the squat rack?!

#13) Get Your Hair Did

Let yourself be pampered! Schedule a hair appointment and go all out. I always feel like a new woman after a good cut and color. If you don’t need a cut and color, get a blow out queen. You deserve it.

You don’t need a date to make Valentine’s Day fun and full of love! If you are feeling down (or just want to celebrate being single) make a point to do something intentional on V-Day. Whether you splurge on that ring you have been eyeing or get boudoir photos taken, show yourself some SERIOUS love.

Here are a few of my favorite things if you need a little help on exactly what to treat yourself to!
