One thing they don’t tell you when you get engaged is just how many white dresses you are going to need! Your wedding gown is NOT the only white dress you will be shopping for. Between the engagement party, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinner, there are A LOT of white dresses to be worn. I had way too much fun little white dress shopping for my wedding.
I already had my wedding gown before my husband and I got engaged (that’s a long story). I went back and fourth for months whether I would wear the dress or not, but in the end, I decided to wear it to save money. What that meant was, I wouldn’t get the whole white dress, bridal salon experience this time around.
Because our wedding was in Mexico, we had to get married in the states prior to our actual wedding. I decided to buy a super affordable, long, white dress to wear for the courthouse ceremony. I ended up wearing this dress again on the dance floor at our wedding in Mexico!
You are going to need TONS of white dresses.
You will need a bridal shower dress, a bachelorette party dress, a rehearsal dress, and potentially a reception dress. Ummm… that is four white dresses.
I went with cocktail length for all the pre-wedding dresses. I have a really long torso and shorter legs, so anything in between short and really long is a no go!
You will also need the perfect pair of heels to wear with all your white dresses! I stumbled upon these white leather heels from DSW and they were SO comfortable every time I wore them. I also loved the color.

And then, my friend ironically texted me a link to a dress from there the same day. She was like, “I wish I knew about this website for my wedding dress! I would have saved so much money.” So would have I!
I will say, there was one annoying thing about the website. A lot of the dresses I wanted were out of stock. It was a little frustrating to fall in love with something and then not be able to get it for two months.
It also made it a little difficult to filter through what I could actually buy (and in my size). All of that said, I love the dresses I picked and the prices were absolutely, hands down, unbeatable!
I ended up ordering four dresses from Lulus and keeping three! I call that a win. I wore one to our courthouse wedding (cold in Michigan), one to the bridal shower, and one to the cocktail welcome reception (In Mexico).

We got married in Mexico at Flora Farms and it was straight from a dream. I ended up wearing three of my white Lulu’s dresses and they were perfect! And the white heels I wore were the most comfortable heels of ALL time. I highly recommend them for all of your bridal occasions!
