The Truth About Sharing Your Life on The Internet

Here’s the truth, sharing your life on the Internet is HARD & MESSY. Creating a window into your life for thousands of people on the Internet probably seems a bit crazy. But it takes guts. A lot of them. And unless you do it, you will never really understand what it’s like.

And I’m sure many don’t understand why someone would expose themselves in such a way. The reason may look a little different for every blogger, but for me it’s pretty simple.

My goal is to make other women who are going through hard things feel less alone. To inspire women to chase their dreams no matter the circumstances. To give hope, love and light to those who need it.

As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person. – Paul Shane Spear.

I sat in church one Sunday and this quote brought me to tears. We were talking about chasing those big, scary God sized callings and this spoke straight into my soul. At that moment, I knew. I knew it was my calling to write these words & share them right here on this very blog.

Vulnerability is Terrifying

Its terrifying to share you hopes, goals and dreams in such a public way. It opens up the doorway for criticism, harsh remarks, and negative chatter. Sometimes people take your words out of context. Sometimes they take them to your boss.

Being a lifestyle blogger is MESSY. Every time I get a nasty Instagram message, a rude comment, or run into an awkward situation because of my blog, I have to run back to that quote, ground myself and remember that my words are making a difference.

It’s All Worth It

Thankfully, for every hurtful comment or awkward situation there are hundreds of beautiful ones. Stories being shared, prayers being answered. Women reaching out to let me know they feel seen. They feel heard. They feel less alone in this thing called life.

That is why I show up online every day and let you peak inside the window of my life. On the good days, and the bad, you aren’t going through this life alone. I’ll gladly be your personal cheerleader, your business coach and your online bestie.

I might not be able to change the world, but I know I can change the world for one person. That one person, maybe she is you, I hope she hears my story, reads my words and knows that she is worth far more than rubies.
