I know, I know, so many of you despise this holiday, but if I’m being honest, I love it. From the silly Valentine’s day boxes and cards in elementary school to coming up with something extra special for my future husband, I’ve always found the holiday charming.
When I really take the time, I come up with some very unique and sentimental gifts, but I’ve been off my gift giving game the last year or so. I’m not really sure why. On the other hand, my Marketing Assistant, Emily, is seriously the most thoughtful and creative human, so I asked her for some Valentine’s Day gift suggestions and she was full of great gift ideas! I sprinkled in some of my ideas (with the help of Andrew).
Are you and your sweetie sappy and sentimental? A memory jar is the cutest way to reminisce on all the special memories you have shared over the years. Cut up little slips of paper and write your special memories on them, fold them, and then drop into the jar!
You can also include miscellaneous items like old ticket stubs, a wedding photo, or foreign currency from our favorite vacation. Sitting down together going through the jar is a gift in itself and a very special way to spend time on Valentine’s Day.
Omaha Steak Delivery
I don’t know about you, but we LOVE steak. Sending your sweetie some delicious steak is a fun idea for something different! Maybe you gift the steaks along with “dinner by you,” wine, a babysitter and soft music included. Make it a delicious date! Omaha steak has tons of great last minute gift ready options!
Craft Beer Club
For all the beer lovers out there! This Craft Beer of the month club searches out exceptional craft beers from around the country and then delivers the monthly beer club selections direct-to-your door. You can choose an ongoing beer club membership or Craft Beer Club gifts to ship monthly, every-other-month or even quarterly. Give 1 to 12 shipments and receive up to 3 bonus gifts and an additional $25 bonus with your order.
A Wooden Watch
I am forever in love with wooden watches. I got my dad one for father’s day last year, and he has cherished it ever since! It would also make an amazing Valentine’s Day gift for your man if he is into that kinda thing. It’s definitely a unique spin on a classic gift!
Nothing more sexy and intimate than a boudoir shoot for your man! There are tons of amazing photographers on Instagram that shoot boudoir. Bonus points for wrapping up the little outfit you wear in a box with the photos!
Sporting Event Tickets
I love giving experiences as gifts! It can be hard to do so with Andrew’s crazy schedule, but if you have a sports fan in your life, check out tickets to local sporting events. And you don’t have to splurge on a professional sport. We have tons of local teams that are slightly under professional level making the tickets more affordable.
We LOVE going to concerts. Think about favorite bands you and your man listen to together! Google to see if there are any upcoming shows in your area. Working with a tight budget? See if any of the local bars are hosting musicians!
Need some relaxation in your life? Book a couple’s massage for you and your boo thang. A major plus that you get to be pampered, too! Splurge for 90 minutes. 60 minutes goes by in the blink of an eye. OR opt for a more “romantic” at home massage experience with the gift of oils, a massager, and enhancements for pampering each other in your own home.
Modern Map Art
I always see these maps on the Internet and they really do make the perfect gift! Choose a place that is super special to you like your favorite vacation spot or the city you call home together. You can also get a custom night sky star map that represents a special date like your anniversary, your first date, first kiss, the day he proposed, or the day you got married!
Fitness Apparel & Gear
If your guy is anything like mine, he is always in need of workout gear. I’ve heard amazing thins about the Brook’s men’s active shorts (They also make great running shoes). Andrew likes workout hats and socks. Other ideas include a weightlifting belt, barbell clips, gymnastic gloves, wrist straps, or lifters. We use all of these things every day at CrossFit! Better yet, if your man doesn’t have a membership to a gym or fitness center (but wants one), that could be another great fitness related option.
I love gifting cologne. Even if your man has one go to on his dresser, it never hurts to have a few different scents to choose from. I love that Andrew has a special scent for date night. It’s like the equivalent of me putting on heals! I think cologne is a win/win because he likes it and then you get to enjoy him smelling all delicious. Andrew likes David Beckham.
I love personalized and engraved gifts! One year, I got Andrew an engraved bracelet with his favorite saying “I am Third.” He never wanted to take it off! Unfortunately, it broke from too much wear (it was a silicone material), but it was his favorite gift of all time. For our dating anniversary this year, I got him a silver cross necklace.
Gift of a Tattoo
Guys, this was Andrew’s idea for a gift (He literally asked me the other day if we could go get tattoos soon). If your man likes ink, you could get him a gift card to the tattoo parlor OR if you are down to get some ink, too, maybe plan an appointment to get matching tattoos. Andrew and I have a few we want to get together!

I can’t wait for Valentine’s Day this year! We haven’t been going out to eat much to save for the wedding, and we have a special date planned at a restaurant in Grand Rapids. The steak will be delicious, but the best part will be the company! Plus, Valentine’s Day is exactly two weeks before our courthouse wedding. With only one left month of being engaged, I’m getting so excited.
