Better late than never! Our moody main bedroom makeover is finally here. This was an extremely challenging time to work on a house project. There were shipping delays, stores were closed and we froze spending in case we needed our savings. Not to mention, I was only living at our house for about 20% of the time.
All of that said, the room is FAR from “done,” but it is full of so much more personality than before and I’ll cheers to that. I find myself walking into the room and just taking a few seconds to soak it all in!
The first thing we did was install the board and batten wall (we didn’t actually use batten). Next, I painted the walls Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams. I ordered throw pillows, brass sconces, curtains, curtain rods, a gorgeous Persian rug and two dressers to use as nightstands.
I can proudly say I made the black and white abstract art above the bed. There is a diy art tutorial in my Instagram highlights if you are curious. It was a super easy DIY, and it turned out SO good.
I am in love with how this room looks so far. It is a complete transformation compared to eight weeks ago. It went from a beige box to a dark, moody, sexy bedroom. I will never get over the power of paint!
We have a long ways to go and a lot more furniture to buy for this room, but progress over perfection! I still want to get furniture for the window nook area, a bigger mirror and a bench for the end of the bed, but we will acquire those items slowly.
