ORC Week Three: The Most Comfortable & Affordable Linen Bedding

It’s week three of the One Room Challenge, and I have been getting so many questions about our bedding! We upgraded our bed frame and mattress to a king a few months ago, and there is no going back. We love having the extra space and our Awara mattress is so comfortable!

Over the last few years, I have converted all of our bedding over to linen duvet covers because it’s just that good. H&M has crazy affordable ones that match the quality of my West Elm one.

I replaced our sheets with these organic cotton ones from Target. I almost splurged on “expensive” sheets, but I’m glad I didn’t. We love these. We also quit sleeping with the top sheet because it always ended up in a wad at the end of the bed. Game changer.

I recently learned that you should replace your pillows every 1-2 years. After learning that, I am embarrassed to admit how long I have had my pillow, and my husband’s pillow was falling apart.

I ordered us two King size memory foam pillows from CoopHomeGoods and have been so happy with them! You can take memory foam out or put more in depending on your sleep style and preference.

And we all know that beds need 500 pillows according to women, so I ordered four of these Amazon Basic pillows for the linen shams. They are surprisingly comfortable as well, but definitely different than memory foam!

I have a couple different style throw pillows on the bed in these photos, but once the deep red Persian rug came into the room, I ended up taking them off the bed. I just wasn’t feeling the color/pattern combo. I still love the faux leather pillow cover and the black patterned lumbar pillows so I will find new spots for them!

Looking ahead to next week of the One Room Challenge, I have to decide where I am going to draw the line on the budget for this room. I would LOVE different curtain rods because mine ended up being an epic DIY fail.

The nightstands I ordered online were also a fail. Thankfully they ended up working perfectly in our attic bedroom which needed nightstands. I did order replacement ones, and I can’t wait for them to get here. Until next weeks my friend!
