I know, I know… Thanksgiving isn’t even here yet. I never decorate for Christmas or get a tree until December but this year is a little different. We are spending Thanksgiving in Indianapolis and then I will be traveling for work, so I want to get a head start on decking the halls.
After Christmas 2016, I completely ditched ALL of my Christmas decor. It was bittersweet. Last year, I traded out that lime green, gold and red for black and white and I have zero regrets. I’ve had my own home for about 5 years now and I’m finally figuring out what I like and don’t like.
Starting from scratch is expensive. Plus, we were just getting settled into our new home, so last year was all about the basics. We purchased some garland for the staircase and mantle, stockings, a tree skirt and ornaments. I’m ready to kick it up a notch this year. Christmas is the only holiday I decorate for, so I’m really excited. AND, we are hosting, so I want it to be extra festive and cozy! I’m thinking about our mantle, a tablescape and the sofa.
Alright, now I’m feeling inspired! We are headed out today to pick up some things. I’m usually not a DIY kinda gal, but I think I might try my hand at a few Christmas projects. I actually made a really cool wood one out of simple boards earlier this week. A blog post coming on that soon! Final note, if you are campaigning to stop premature Christmas decorating, sorry not sorry!
I’m feeling that tree vibe. Thanks for sharing!
Right?! I’m on the hunt for the wooden beads!
