One Room Challenge: Parlor Reveal

I can’t believe the One Room Challenge reveal day is here. When I signed up as a guest participant, I failed to acknowledge the fact I would be traveling for two of the five weeks I did most most the work and product sourcing up front. This room was so white and empty! You can see the before photos here.

I came home from my work trip late last night, woke up, put together the sofa, styled the entire room, photographed it and sent the photos off for editing all in one day. Thank goodness this is off my plate! I love how cozy and eclectic this room turned out. I’m sure I will be playing with all the little details in the near future.

Pretty in Pink Paint

The pink paint was a smashing hit with my Instagram followers. The color is One to Remember by Behr Paint. I absolutely love it! It makes the room so warm and friendly. You walk in and it feels like this room is giving you a hug.

The Fireplace

I had previously painted the fireplace limousine leather in semi-gloss (against my husbands will). I was worried how it would look with the pink walls, but I actually love it! The oversized gold mirror on the mantle was an Indianapolis Goodwill find. So were the lamps flanking the mirror!

Prints from the Lipstick Lens

I partnered with Custom Picture Frames and The Lipstick Lens for these gorgeous prints. The colors could not be more perfect for this room. The greens, pinks and reds are an amazing compliment to the floral Persian rug.

The Novogratz Sectional

The sexy, velvet sectional was a last minute surprise! I partnered with Novogratz on this piece and it brings so much texture and depth to the room. I wanted a sofa we could take with us to our next home, so I went with navy. I couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy morning coffee than with my feet up on this sectional. We will use it for years to come. I picked up the pillow covers on clearance at West Elm. I was smitten that I got four for $20.00.

The mid century China cabinet was originally purchased for the kitchen, but when I saw it in this room, I knew it belonged there. I filled it with some of my recent vintage treasures.

The Room Before the ORC

What We Did:

At the start of the One Room Challenge our goal was to turn this empty space into a place to lounge, relax and hangout with friends. It’s now the perfect spot for conversation and gathering. I can’t wait to enjoy it with family and friends.
