I have two different makeup routines. One is what I wear during the week when I’m working from home and the other is for when I actually go out into public! Today, I wanted to share my quick and easy 5 minute makeup routine that I’ve been doing each weekday morning. My skin is very dry, and I suffer from mild adult acne, so I’ve had to find solutions that moisturize and help prevent breakouts.
If I start thinking about summer and the beach, will that help me get through the rest of this winter? Asking for a friend. I’ve started saving some of my favorite beach styles for our honeymoon! I’ve already bought tons of swimsuits, but I want to find some cute clothes, too!
I use my backpack ALL of the time. I always travel with it, and I use it to carry my laptop and planner around to coffee shops and such. This week, I am on the hunt for a stylish business bag. Here are some of my favorites laptop bag finds in both backpack and shoulder bag styles! I included some casual options, business casual options, and a couple more professional briefcase styles.
I desperately need a vacation with palm trees and sunshine. Unfortunately, that is not in the cards this winter as we save for our destination wedding in June. We took one last winter and I remember it being the perfect way to break up the winter season. Since we can’t take a trip to somewhere warm, I asked Instagram what to do for the winter blues, and there were all sorts of great ideas to help with seasonal depression. In fact, so many great ideas that I wanted to share them for anyone else who may be struggling.
Andrew and I have been talking about trying a grocery delivery service for weeks. We always see the Shipt shoppers shuffling through Meijer when we go, and some of our friends and coworkers use the service. We even know a few people who are actually shoppers for the company! All have said great things about using the service to get groceries delivered to their doorsteps.
You guys, I was shocked by the responses I got the last time I did a “ask me anything” on Instagram. Do you know what the number one thing that people wanted to know? They wanted to know how to put themselves out there… How to be comfortable in their own skin on social media. This surprised me, but then again I’ve had many social media clients struggle with this same thing in the past.
I’ve been working with a life coach on and off for about eight months now. Yesterday, she hosted a virtual retreat to help women intentionally plan for the new year. She used my story as an example of how our childhood shapes and defines us as adults. I haven’t shared much about this “story” of mine, but there is quite a bit to it.
Let’s just cut to the chase. Weddings are expensive AF. You go to hire a vendor, get a quote in your inbox and cry. I saw a fellow blogger equate wedding planning to crying over spreadsheets, and I hate to say it, but I’m in the same boat. If you have been following along with my wedding plan, then you probably know that we are having a destination wedding in June. People keep saying to me, “Oh, it’s just a destination wedding. It can’t be that bad.” Well, let me tell you. It is. I picked a stunning venue with delicious food & cocktails, beautiful wedding invites, all day entertainment, and a top notch photographer and videographer, and I’m paying the price.
This blog post was actually a request from a reader! I don’t share much about our healthy lifestyle (CrossFit + what we eat), but if you know me personally, you know that Andrew and I are a bit of health nuts. We try to eat relatively clean and live an active lifestyle. We do CrossFit 3-4 days a week which is a great combination of strength training, gymnastics movements, and cardio. We were both collegiate soccer players, but I’m in way better shape now than I ever have been!
My experience with Minted has always been exceptional! The quality is unbeatable and every piece of stationary is stunning. I’ve ordered holiday cards, save the dates, bachelor/bachelorette party invites, and now our wedding suite from Minted, and I’ve been super impressed with the company every single time!
Last year, we were moving into our home during the holidays. We came to Michigan with barely any furniture or decor, let alone holiday decor! I picked up just enough last year to make it feel like the holidays. This year, I had the time to add a few things here and there and we learned that our bay window deserves a 10ft live tree! I wanted to keep the Christmas color pallet black & white. Welcome to our home at Christmas!
A year ago, if I heard the term “mindset” or someone mentioned “life coaching,” my eyes would roll so far back into my head that they would get stuck there for 48 hours. I’m an extremely analytical, realistic, straight forward person that relies on a dose of intuition. All of this “find your inner-self” shit seemed like a lot of fu-fu fluff. The universe works in funny ways my friends. Early this year, I brought on a life coach as a Thoughtfully Designed client, and we instantly hit it off.
If you have been following me on Instagram for awhile, you know that we have been trying really hard to reduce the amount of waste generated in our household. It's been a slow process. We tried to go cold turkey, and found that wasn't realistic for us. After that, adding back in products with wasteful packaging felt defeating, BUT I wasn't giving us enough credit. It's all about progress, not perfection and that goes for you, too! You don't have to be an extreme zero waster to make a few small changes that can have a big impact on your waste generation, so here are some waste reduction tips for people who are NOT zero waste!
I can’t believe I am 25 years old today. No clue why, but 25 seems so much older than 24. If you didn’t know my age before, that number might come as a surprise to you. It often does to strangers online! Anyway, year 24 was an absolute whirlwind spent with my best friend. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. So many major life milestones and each one came as a blessing and sometimes a challenge. I love being able to look back on so many wonderful memories, and I know year 25 is going to be the best one yet!
