This quick bedroom refresh happened in just 48 hours thanks to Nectar. My mom texted me these sad photos and asked if I could help spruce up one of her guest bedrooms and of course I said, “Yes!”
I’ve been helping her with her master bedroom for a few weeks and she liked the style so much that it’s sparked her motivation to completely redo the rest of the house (this bedroom included).
This bedroom belonged to my brother while he was in college. My mom let him decorate it however he liked (wallpaper included). The very first thing I instructed her to do was take it down (sorry brother)! She wanted a light, airy, boho vibe and that paper just didn’t fit.
Remember, the room you are seeing here was put together without purchasing ANYTHING new! However, my mom had bought this tiny rug before I showed up and I had to break it to her that it’s not the right size for this bedroom.
Nectar provided this epic bed frame (it’s adjustable via remote) and the most comfortable mattress. Andrew and I enjoy it VERY much when we stay at their lake house. I should also add, the bed frame has USB plugs on the sides for charging your phone at night #mindblown.
We pulled the nightstands and lamps from the other guest bedroom (it’s going to get a makeover, too). I found the art above the bed covered in dust in the basement, and the lumbar pillow and blanket came from the living room.

I can’t believe how pretty this room turned out only using things from around their house! Eventually, we are going to swap out the rug and nightstands and bring an old dresser into the room for the other wall. We will also add blinds and curtains! Are you up for the “around your house challenge?” It might lead to something super creative!
