Our Tropical Wedding Invitation Suite from Minted

My experience with Minted has always been exceptional! The quality is unbeatable and every piece of stationary is stunning. I’ve ordered holiday cards, save the dates, bachelor/bachelorette party invites, and now our wedding invitations from Minted, and I’ve been super impressed with the company every single time!

Independent Artists

I love that Minted features thousands of independent artists. Each artist brings a unique and creative touch to their items and this allows Minted to carry literally every style under the sun. You are bound to find a gorgeous save the dates and wedding invitations that fit the colors and vibe of you and your wedding.

Tons of Ways to Customize

Minted offers tons of different styles for save the dates and wedding invitations, such as petite versions, booklets, magnets, and the traditional sized invite. I decided on the traditional style in their standard paper (which still felt thick and luxurious to me).

You can also choose from tons of different papers like super thick card stock, shimmery paper, and a few other styles. When we ordered our save the dates, Minted sent wedding invite samples with paper options and such. This was super helpful and made ordering my wedding invitations a breeze.

Pro Tip: You can get paper and invite samples before you even order your save the dates if you really want to check out your options in person, but like I said, I love their standard paper.

Free Address Printing

The best thing about Minted (in my opinion) is the FREE address printing. One, this saves you so much time, and two, I love the look over my sloppy handwriting! It makes the envelopes so polished looking.

All you have to do is download their address template to Microsoft Excel, type in or copy and paste your addresses, and then upload the template back into the Minted website! Seriously amazing. I also love that you can choose fancy envelopes and fonts that match your invites! We had palm leaves on our envelopes to match the invite.

Make sure to research how to address all of the people you are inviting! We had some service members as well as doctors, so their addresses look a little different. There are also ways to list out younger family members and guests.

Pro Tip: When you get your proof, go through each envelope on the proof and make sure your addresses all look correct. I’ve messed up a few and then had to hand write on the envelopes and it crushed my heart.

Custom stamps

Our wedding guests would expect nothing less from me. After designing a stunning wedding invitation and envelope, who wants to put an out of suite stamp on it? I designed a custom palm stamp that matched our wedding invitations perfectly! There are tons of stamp designs to go with whatever suite you choose! I ordered the 72 cent stamps so they would be bigger and make a statement on the envelopes.

Pro Tip: Double check how much postage your wedding suite will need. If each envelope is extra big and/or heavy it may need more postage than a typical card.

Free Wedding Website

Another huge perk of ordering off of Minted is the free wedding website! This was so helpful for us since we are planning a destination wedding and our guests have so many questions. Plus, the wedding website matches my invitation suite perfecting, which makes my design heart SO happy!

We included a photo, the story of how we met, travel and accommodation information, our registry (which is PayPal-ing us money lol #noshame) as well as an order of events.

We are having all of our guests RSVP on the website as well which is a huge time + money saver. You had to upgrade to get a custom domain and include a photo gallery, and I didn’t feel that was worth it. Overall, the free wedding website gave us everything we needed to include for our guests!

Our Save the Dates

I wanted to keep our save the dates modern, yet classic, so I went with neutrals and a black and white photo we snapped on one of our Mexico trips. Seemed fitting for a Cabo wedding!

Since our save the dates were more neutral with no palms, I used the custom palm stamp to tie the save the dates in with our wedding invites! Seriously, these were the perfect, customized touch that brought everything together.

Our Wedding Invitations

I seriously drooled over our wedding invitations when they came in! The palm design couldn’t be more perfect for a Mexico destination wedding being held on a lush organic farm up in the mountains!

I kept the front more formal, and added a photo and our wedding website on the back. To save time + money, I didn’t do any inserts at all. Everyone is being sent to our website to RSVP. I did opt for rounded corners and an envelope liner to jazz up the invite. I will say, the little extras like that add up fast, so pay attention as you are going through the creation process!

Pro Tip: Research how to write your wedding invitation. It varies greatly based on who is paying for/hosting the wedding. I didn’t know this when I created mine!

I’ve seriously been SO happy ordering special things from Minted. They make you feel like a human and not just another customer. When your invites come someone actually hand writes your name on the package and signs theirs as well! How sweet is that?! Also, every time I have ordered, it says shipping will take 2 weeks, but then the invites show up at my door 4 days later! Nothing better than fast shipping!

There is definitely something special about choosing your save the dates and wedding invitations. They really set the tone for the style and vibe of your wedding! Plus, I love thinking about each and every person we are mailing them to and the role they play in our lives and our relationship. Sitting at the dining room table stuffing envelopes with Andrew and reminiscing on good times with family and friends is something I will never forget!

You guys said you would be up for some progress sh You guys said you would be up for some progress shots, so here we go! A little corner of our room that might not look like much, but man, a lot of work went into getting it here 🥰 #historichomes #renovation #bedroominspo
Throwback to one of our previous kitchens (that I Throwback to one of our previous kitchens (that I completely transformed with $500.00) because it is a constant reminder that you can make your home your own without spending thousands of dollars! 💸⠀
⠀
I've been sharing all the BTS of current house projects in my stories. We are definitely hiring things out here and there this time, but still sticking to a tight budget.⠀
⠀
There ARE maybe 1.5 rooms worth posting on Instagram (In my opinion). Half wallpapered walls and green carpeted floors don't really seem all that appealing to me 😂⠀
⠀
So tell me what you do/don't want to see on the feed! Photos of our previous homes? Progress shots? My face? Andrew's face? Our dogs? 😆 Idk. You tell me!⠀
⠀
Even though progress feels slow, we have major things happening in the next few weeks!⠀
⠀
Next week, ceilings and walls are getting smoothed, patched and prepped for paint. Once they are done, I'm breaking out my paintbrush before our downstairs floors get refinished the week of the 25th.⠀
⠀
I AM SO EXCITED to see this come together 🥳 I'm ready to shop for furniture/art and to decorate.⠀

Every December I sit down and write an elaborate “plan” for the upcoming year full of hopes, wishes and goals I would like to accomplish.⠀
⠀
I have the notebooks from the last three years, and when I look back at my entries, not much has changed.⠀
⠀
This year is different. Not because of the pandemic. Not because I’m becoming a mom. But because I have a new perspective and view on life, love and work.⠀
⠀
It seems that 2020 taught me to let go a bit. Live in the moment. Less stress. Less pressure. More LIFE.⠀
⠀
There is so much media out there pushing us to be more, do more, say more, spend more etc. I am OVER this hustle culture. I know what I am capable of, but what if I don’t WANT to grow a huge business and quit my corporate career?⠀
⠀
I feel like I’ve been fed a narrative, and I’m just now waking up to my personal truth, finding my own groove, and understanding what works for me and my lifestyle. And more importantly, what doesn’t!⠀
⠀
Head to the blog to read my 3 unconventional and somewhat vague (Isn't that a crime in goal setting?) goals for the new year #linkinbio⠀

Heading back to work after the holidays is rough 🤪⠀
⠀
I miss having all day to destroy and reassemble my house. We "finished" the bedroom last night & I could cry happy tears. By finishing, I mean we have this left to do 😂⠀
⠀
➖ Replace outlets/light switches + covers⠀
➖ Install quarter round trim + paint it⠀
➖ Re-hang main door⠀
➖ Paint windows⠀
➖ Figure out closet door situation⠀
➖ Buy lamps ⠀
➖ Buy curtain rods + curtains + hang⠀
➖ Buy a light-fixture⠀
➖ DIY + Hang art!⠀
➖ Have electrician out for overhead light⠀
⠀
Meanwhile, we still haven't closed on our last house, so here is a photo to remind ourselves that we still own this place down the road 😅⠀

Going into 2020, we had no idea where Andrew’s f Going into 2020, we had no idea where Andrew’s fellowship was going to take us. In January, he matched at IU & we were so excited to move “home.” Amidst the pandemic, we lived in FOUR different houses. We both changed jobs & now we have a baby on the way! A tough, but rewarding year that I honestly wouldn’t change 🖤 Going into 2021, I am so hopeful for all the good that is to come. I can’t wait to make our new house a home & to meet our baby girl! 🥰
HOLY COW. My entire body hurts but this room has c HOLY COW. My entire body hurts but this room has completely transformed in just a week! It’s been a labor of love. I finished painting tonight & we pulled the carpet... the floors are STUNNING & in perfect condition 😭🤩 The perfect reward after all of the hard work that went into removing the wallpaper/glue, restoring the plaster & painting! There is no overhead light in this room (yet) so I’ll have to share more tomorrow.
