If you are looking for a fun, unconventional Valentine’s day date idea, you are in the right place. It’s good to shake date night up every now and then.
For date night, we tend to just go out to eat over and over again. Not complaining because I LOVE some quality time over a good meal and a glass of wine, but I’m also ready to try new things together.
#1 Ding-Dong-Ditch-Date
Have lots of neighbors or friends spending Valentine’s Day alone? Spend the day baking and decorating cookies with your partner, then wrap the cookies up nicely in small packages. Write cards saying the cookies are from a secret valentine, and once it gets dark, go around the neighborhood ding-dong-ditching, leaving the cookies on people’s doorsteps!
#2 Glamping
Either outside somewhere or in your living room! Definitely not glamping outside in our 20 degree weather, but we have totally build tents to watch movies in our living rooming. The dogs even joined us.
#3 Wine Bar Crawl
I love bar crawls, but WINE bar crawl, sign me up. Head to google and create a map of all the places you will hit for wine. Make sure to use a driver!
#4 Couples Cooking Class
A simple Google search will likely lead you to a couples cooking class in your area! This is on my list for a date anytime of the year.
#5 Spa Night
You can do a spa night either at the spa or DIY style at home! It’s the perfect way to relax with your sweetie on Valentine’s Day.
#6 Relive your first date
There is nothing better than going back to that first date, butterflies in your stomach. Andrew and I went to a sushi restaurant in Indianapolis.
#7 Wine & Cheese Tasting
Create a Valentine’s Day charcuterie board to enjoy at home. Don’t forget the bottle of wine! If you want to make it totally stress free, order everything you need online and have it delivered to your door with Shipt.
#8 Backyard Bonfire
It’s snowy here, but that just makes a backyard bonfire extra cozy. Roast hot dogs, marshmallows, or make fire pies!
#9 Ice Skating
Here is Muskegon, MI we have an awesome winter sports complex with outdoor rinks and skating trails. If you live somewhere warm, there is always the indoor ice rink! Don’t forget to hold hands when you skate 😉
#10 Personalized Scavenger Hunt
You pick a couple places, your S.O. picks a couple places, and you surprise each other with the locations. You can relive important moments, recreate a favorite activity, or just chill out knowing you’re making new memories.
#11 A Themed Dinner Night at Home
My parents host “around the world dinners” and it’s so much fun. They pick different countries and go all out with food, decor and activities. You could also do a flashback to the past or imitate a favorite rom com!
#12 Shop for Your Date
Make it a silly activity where you compete to buy the funniest/most ridiculous item for each other. Or, buy something that’s relevant to a spectacular date night (fondue pot!), then go enjoy the fruits of your labor: at home, away from the crowds.
#13 Water Park
Water parks aren’t just for kids! Look up the nearest indoor water park (or outdoor if you are down south) and head there with your other half. Maybe even opt for a V-Day bikini?!
#14 An Escape Room
These have become quite the trend and there is likely one in your area! Many of the rooms have different themes, too.
