3 Day Sunroom Refresh with KILZ®

Ah, the age-old question: to paint or not to paint?

When we purchased our historic home, one room became our oasis: the sunroom. With large windows and red tile floors, the sunroom was literally the only functional space… unlike the rest of the house, which needed a major overhaul.

I had a to-do list a mile long: from hardwood floor refinishing to our master bedroom makeover, not to mention Baby Ryan’s nursery. I wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to take with the sunroom design, so I decided to hold off on painting it.

When KILZ® reached out, it was time to make a decision on what color to paint the space that we spend so much time in. I was so torn between painting the trim or leaving it wood. Then there was the decision for the walls: dark and moody or white and bright? We ended up leaving the wood trim and painting the walls and ceilings “True White”  from the Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines® paint line.

I cannot stress enough how important proper prep is for painting! We never used to use primer until we moved into this house. Once you use primer to prep for painting you will never go back! It blocks stains, lessens the number of coats of paints needed (hello money saver), and makes changing colors a breeze.

Never underestimate the power of primer and paint. In 3 short days, we completely transformed this room thanks to KILZ®. Now I’m motivated for more spring cleaning! A coat of primer, a fresh coat of white paint, new ceiling fan, and a rug swap has the sunroom feeling transformed and ready for spring!
